AKIMBO Rules

AKIMBO allows you to post almost anything regarding AssaultCube, maps, skymaps, mapmodels, mods and scripts.

A few things should be taken into account:

* Uploading your work on AKIMBO is very simple, refer to Packaging Rules below.

* Please respect Authors works and licences, if you post someone elses work you must include the Author licence(s) in your readme.txt file.

* Avoid double posting, it is annoying and makes you look like a forum noob, use the 'edit' function instead.

* This is not a chat forum! Useless and off topic are not appreciated! Don't bother posting if it isn't to reply constructivly, thank you.

Packaging Rules

All material is stored in AKIMBO Vault, We provide an easy way for you to upload your work.
The first section allows you to upload screenshots straight from your computer to the post.
(no need to have your image hosted on storage site)
IMPORTANT! Images have to be in .jpg format and should not exceed 512 x 384 pixels.



The second section links you directly to AKIMBO Vault's files upload page.



Once done filling the requiered fields, click on 'add file' at the bottom and that's it.
You now end up to the final page where you can simply copy/paste the link to add to your post.




The way to compress your stuff is important too and should be done this way:
IMPORTANT! Only .zip format is accepted.

* Maps: A .zip file containing: 'packages' folder including a 'maps' folder containing your map .cgz and .cfg files.

* Skymaps: A .zip file containing: 'packages' folder including a 'textures' folder including a 'skymaps' folder including your folder.

* Mapmodels: A .zip file containing: 'packages' folder including a 'models' folder including a 'mapmodels' folder including your folder.

* Textures: A .zip file containing:'packages' folder including a 'textures' folder including your folder.

* For Scripts and Mods: Simply create a script/modname.zip with your files in it as someone may just want to save it in a specific location.

Also, make sure you remove 'thumbs.db' from .zip files as it contain informations about your machine!

At last, don't forget to include readme.txt files with authors credits and licences if and when needed!!!
